Charlotte accountancy goes into investment banking

New service offering meant to extend Greer & Walker life-cycle proposition. Charlotte, N.C.-based CPA Greer & Walker has formed Greer & Walker Corporate Finance, an investment bank that focuses on management succession for closely held businesses and wealth transfer for their owners.

Bridging a gap

"Greer & Walker serves as a trusted advisor to our middle-market client base during the active ownership and growth phase of the business life cycle," says Greer & Walker partner and co-founder Kevin Walker. "The new range of services offered by Greer & Walker Corporate Finance will now allow us to extend our trusted advisor role into the exit planning and sale of business phases, bridging the previous gap between services offered by Greer & Walker and our affiliated asset management firm, Greer & Walker Investment Advisors.

Jay Carter and Gary Parker, formerly with Laguna Hills, Calif.-based middle-market investment bank Corporate Finance Associates, have joined Greer & Walker Corporate Finance as principals. Greer & Walker partner will also join the new firm.

Greer & Walker Corporate Finance "provides a comprehensive, integrated approach to exit planning and implementation," says Carter.
